Why is ventilation important?

Aeration in the koi pond serves to provide sufficient oxygen in the water, which your koi need to breathe. A lack of oxygen can lead to stress, illness and even death of your fish. Especially in the hot summer months or when the pond is heavily populated, the oxygen level in the water can quickly decrease. Good aeration ensures that your koi always have enough oxygen available to remain active and vital.

How does ventilation work?

Our KENJI KOI aeration systems have been carefully designed to ensure an optimal supply of oxygen. The pond aerators, equipped with powerful air pumps, create fine air bubbles that disperse in the pond water. These bubbles increase surface movement and allow the water to absorb oxygen from the air. At the same time, gas exchange is also encouraged, which helps to release excess carbon dioxide from the water.
